Content (Syllabus outline)
Quantitative methods which are applicable to actual mathematical problems in an organization.

1. LINEAR ALGEBRA
1.1 Geometric vectors
1.2 Determinants and matrices
1.3 System of linear equations
2. CALCULUS
2.1 Sequences and number series (geometric sequence, compound interest)
2.2 Functions (Review of basic elementary functions. Continuity and limit of function)
2.3 Derivative (Function analysis. Differential)
2.4 Integral (Definite and indefinite integral. Application of definite integral)
2.5 Ordinary differential equations of the first order
2.6 Functions of two independant variables (Partial derivatives. Extremal problems)
2.7 Application of computer programs for symbolic and numerical computations
Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes
Students will:
• be able to understanding fundamental quantitative methods from the field of linear algebra and analysis,
• be able to use the computer tools for symbolic and numerical computations on real problems within organizations.
