Student will:
• Achieve in-depth understanding of product design and production processes
• Understand the operation of business systems
• Know the principles of organizing and managing of production processes
• Achieve in-depth understanding of various processes in material production and services
• Know various reference models for the development of product, service and production process
• Understand advantages of the use of information technology and modern organizational forms by the development of products and production processes
Content (Syllabus outline)
- Placement of product and production process development process in business system.
- Formation of business systems strategies for product development.
- Methods of obtaining and managing ideas.
- Organization of a new product development process (design and engineering).
- Engineering (development, design and organization) of production processes.
- Verification of new products cost-effectiveness.
- Overview of frameworks for product and process development.
- Overview of service (services basic package) development frameworks.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and understanding:
After the end of the course students will be able to:
• Analize the process of product or service development
• Design the process of production
• Evaluate the meaning of the Quality Function Deployment method (QFD) and the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) by the designing of products
• Demonstrate the role of market research in the product development process
• Select appropriate technologies and tools for the development of product
• Perform calculations and precalculations of the product costs
• Use the computer applications for support development of products and production processes.
