Objectives and competences

Student will: • undersatnd IS key conecpts • understand HRIS elements • undersatnd interconnection and integration of HRIS, ERP and MIS; • understanding the role of human resorces management in the HRIS development

Content (Syllabus outline)

• Key concepts in information systems • HRMIS as an integral part of IS in an organization • HRIS as a basis for systematic development of human resoruces • Information management in the comprehensive HR development • Integration of HRIS and MIS • Systems approach to development and implementation of HRSI • Key concepts in HRIS data bases (Database Management Systems, Key conecpts in relational DB, Basics on data modelling, HR data) • Contemporary concepts of HR data governance (data analytics, big data) • Project of development / remodeling of HRIS (HRIS requirements analysis, ROI, Cost-Benefit Analysis, The role of HRM in HRIS development) • HRMIS solutions • Human capital knowledge management • Legal and ethical questions in HRIS • Human resources management in the digital economy

Learning and teaching methods

Lectures, problem solving, case studies, practical work on the PCs and internet, oral presentations of the seminal work.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: • Understand key concepts in HRIS and human resources data management, • use contemporary organizational problem solving methods and tools (in aspects of HRMIS development), • Use of HRMIS in human resources development, • analyze the interconnection of HRIS with other IS in the organization, • Address the problems of privacy and security of data, • Collaborate (in a interdisciplinary team) in HRMIS development.

Prerequisits

Basics computer skills. Human resource management functions and processes. Conditions for taking the exam are: completed assignements of e-study units and seminal work.
