Objectives and competences

Student will: 1. Achieve deep understanding of the meaning and role of different the quality management (QM) system/models, 2. Learnstandardised and non-standardized QM systems/models, 3. Understand the implementation of continuous improvement principles and their monitoring (control), 4. Learn about tools and techniques of QM system/models, 5. Achieve deepunderstanding of achieving effectiveness and efficiency of processes from the perspective of QM and business excellence.

Content (Syllabus outline)

1. Standardization and management systems (SIST EN ISO Standards 9001:2015, 9004:2018) 2. Fundamentals of quality management and business excellence , 3. Approaches, models, tools and techniques of quality management and business excellence improvement (PDSA, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean management, BSC, EFQM etc.), 4. Examples of good practices and case studies

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and Understanding: At the end of this course, students will be able to: • define and explain the purpose and objectives of different QM systems/models implementation, • use different tools and techniques of different QM systems/models, • analyze the dependency and linkage between QM systems/models on one side and process quality and effectiveness/efficiency of processes and organization on the other side. • make a plan for different QM systems/models implementation, • describe and explain the basic concepts of business excellence.

Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes: - capability to introduce and maintain different QM systems/models, - usage of adequate techniques and tools, - implementation of activities to assure and determine effectiveness and efficiency of processes and whole organization
