Objectives and competences

Develop knowledge about different cultures in a business environment. Get acquainted with questions about different cultures in a business world. To differ theories and questions related to different cultures and values. Learn, understand and be able to use HRM principles in cross-cultural business environment. Get acquainted with different training methods of expatriate. Get acquainted with different modes of communication in a variety of cross-cultural business situations. Learn about cultural and business customs of different EU countries and other countries in the world.

- Culture (definition of culture, dimension of culture, culture in organizations) - Values (vision, mission, organizational values) - HRM and cross-cultural environment (cross-cultural training of expatriate) - Cross-cultural communication - Management of cross-cultural differences

Knowledge and understanding: At the end of the course students will be able to: • describethe basic concepts of culture and values. • know and coordinate HRM questions in cross-cultural business environment. • differ cultures as wider social dimension. • understand the values and cultural diversity in the business world.

- Ability to adopt HRM decisions related to expatriate and HRM in different cultural environment.

Prerequisits

• The prerequisite for taking the exam is the completion of obligations related to lectures and tutorials (submitted e-assignments and e-exercises, attendance at tutorial sessions, and submission of the seminar paper).
