Objectives and competences

Student will be able to: • achieve in-depth understanding of methodological knowledge of business process management and redesign, • achieve understanding of project approach of business process redesign, • gain a thorough understanding of methods of digital transformation and the concept of industry 4.0, • achieve the ability to develop methods and techniques of analysing business processes suitability for redesign, • achieve ability to use program tools (methods and techniques), that enable evaluation and management of renewed processes.

Content (Syllabus outline)

1. Methodological bases: 1.1 Extended theoretical and methodological bases for business process management and reengineering 1.2 Use of techniques and tools on business repository common base 1.3 Digital transformation and Industry 4.0 2. Applicative part: 2.1 Project preparation for processes redesign within chosen pilot business system, proceses and defining the goals and framework (WISH-TO) 2.2 Modelling AS-IS processes 2.3 Analysing AS-IS processes 2.4 Key processes redesign 2.5 Adjusting business system 2.6 Implementation of redesigned system 2.7 Assessing the effects of renovation (WISH-TO vs.TO-BE)

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: At the end of this course students will be able to: • explain the theoretical starting points of business process design, • explain the theoretical starting points of business process renewal, • demonstrate methodology for designing business processes, • demonstrate the methodology of business process renewal, • prepare a business process reengineering project, • manage projects of process renewal in the business system, • analyze and evaluate the digital transformation of business systems, • assess the ability of production systems to transition to Industry 4.0.
