Objectives and competences
Student will:
• Know the basic terms in the field of kinesiology;
• Know the basic characteristics of kinesiology as a science;
• Understand the relationship between kinesiology and other sciences;
• Understand the importance and the role of sport in modern society.
Competences:
• Understanding of basic concepts in the field of kinesiology.
• Ability to interdisciplinary link knowledge of kinesiology and other sciences.
• Students will be able to use the knowledge of kinesiology for understanding of sport in modern society and action in the field of management in sport.

• Definition of kinesiology and basic concepts
• The structure of kinesiology as a science:
o Fields of kinesiology
o Basic discipline of Kinesiology
• Kinesiology and other sciences:
o Social Sciences (psychology of sport, sociology of sport, pedgogy of sport)
o Humanities (philosophy of sport, history of sport)
o Science
o Medicine
• The subject of kinesiological research
• Systematic approach in kinesiology
• Areas and the impact of kinesiology in modern society:
o The role and importance of kinesiology in the sustainable development of society

On completion of this course the student will be able to:
• demonstrate basic knowledge of kinesiology, its significance and relation of kinesiology with other sciences,
• solve problems in the field of management in sport,
• understand the importance of sport in modern society, focused on sustainable development,
• understand sports culture of nation.
