Objectives and competences
Within the course we emphasize the following objectives:
• to examine and explain the basic overview of Italian grammar and phonetics with an emphasis on the use of Italian tenses, regular and irregular verbs, and verb tenses (presente dell'indicativo, passato prossimo in futuro semplice),
• to use acquired knowledge in practical situations from everyday life
• to familiarize with the Italian tourism terminology, the basics of tourism communication in the Italian language, the basics of oral communication
Within the course we emphasize the following competences:
• autonomous applicative usage of the basics of the Italian grammar and vocabulary from the field of tourism.
Content (Syllabus outline)
The basic topics of this course are:
• basics of Italian grammar I
• italian verbal tenses (present, past, future)
• noun
• definite and indefinite article
• Italian tourism terminology I (restaurant, hotel, bar)
• basics of Italian tourism communication I
• creation of spoken discourse (communication with guests, presentation etc.).

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and understanding:
Students:
• get acquainted with and understand the interdisciplinary approaches, methodology, acquire the necessary skills, understand theoretical foundations, their transfer into practice,
• gain insight into tourism communication, Italian grammar and phonetics, and culture,
• acquire aplicate theoretical and practical skills in the field of Italian tourism terminology, written discourse and composition of written and spoken texts,
• are able to understand the importance of written and spoken discourse, form and use appropriate written and spoken texts, acquire adequate skills in grammar, phonetics and terminology, and culture,
• are able to critically evaluate and justify their selection,
• are able to find the way to best written and oral text,
• familirize, get acquainted with and actively use the dictionary mask for the preparation and translation of terminology.
