Learning and teaching methods
The course will consist of lectures, seminars, discussions, case analyses, individual and group projects, as well as individual consultations with the instructor.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and Understanding:
Students acquire the basic knowledge about how to perform policing tasks in contemporary societies, understand the nature of different tasks, performed by police and acquire knowledge about the impact of police nature, goals and mentality on the police performance. They understand the nature and causes of police deviance.
Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes:
Students develop skills to identify problems in the area of policing as well as to design police activities according to contemporary theories of policing.
