Objectives and competences

Student: - acquire the scope of volume of health care and the organisation of nursing care at primary level (community nursing and nursing in outpatient clinic); - be aware of the benefits and understand the programs of preventive health care at the primary level; - use different conceptual framework and understand the nursing process for individuals, families, high-risk groups of the population and local communities; - reaches syntheses of theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for independent and team work of the tasks necessary to work effectively in health education, community nursing and nursing in outpatient clinic; - understand quality and safe treatment in community nursing and nursing in outpatients clinic and reducing inequalities; - develop skills of reflection in different situations on primary level; - Know how to prepare for the visit patient and family at home and carry it out and construct a plan for nursing care and properly interpret the particularities of the preventive aspect of patient, family and local community treatment.

Content (Syllabus outline)

- Health care and nursing care at the primary level; - Organization of nursing care in community health and health in outpatient clinic; - Quality and safety in outpatient clinic and community nursing; - Prevention work and preventive strategies in primary health care; - Use of conceptual frameworks in nursing and nursing process for individuals, family and local community at primary level; - Treatment of high risk population groups in the local community and out-patient clinic in terms of health care in primary level and reducing inequality; - The organization and activity of the clinic care; - Methods in community nursing and outpatient nursing care; - The role and functions of nurses in outpatient nursing care and community nursing; - Performance of nursing care in community nursing and outpatient clinic; - Approach to the case study of an individual from the preventive point of view performed in community nursing and also in nursing in outpatient clinic.

Learning and teaching methods

Lectures, seminar work, written assignments, learning based on problem, group work, discussion, case study, practical work, individual work and learning by doing.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Student will be able to: - evaluate health care and the scope of primary level; - Choose and compare different prevention strategiesat the primary level, - distinguish the process of identifying the needs for assessing the health of individuals, families and local communities; - create an individual nursing care plan at the primary level, implement it and evaluate it. - Explain the importance of treatment of high-risk groups of the population at the primary level in terms of nursing and interpret the specifics; - use and connect multiple skills for independent and team work of the necessary tasks to effectively work in health education and health care in community nursing and nursing in outpatient clinic. - are capable of critical thinking and use reflection in different situations on primary level.
