Objectives and competences
Student:
- understand concepts and functions of public health;
- know qualitative, quantitative and participative methods on public health issues;
- understand health insurance;
- understand fields of epidemiology and infectology;
- understand the environmental impacts on health;
- know how to use national and international data bases with public health quality indicators.
Content (Syllabus outline)
Presentation and analysis of public health problems and the evaluation of public health measures.
Healthcare policy and systems, and approaches for planning local (primary health care), regional and national public health activities in order to improve and preserve health.
Presentation of content from epidemiology and infectology and prevention and correction of diseases.
Environmental factors affecting human health (drinking water, global warming, hospital waste, air pollution).
Indicators of public health quality from national and international databases.

Lectures (auditory and e-lectures), seminar (auditory and e-seminars), tutorial, clinical work.
