Objectives and competences

Goals: ? Student acquires knowledge about medical dispatching and its role in emergency medical services. ? Student will be informed with introduction of medical dispatch system in Slovenia. ? Student acquires information about medical priority development and decision models ? Student acquires information about Slovenian Index (SloIn) for medical dispatching ? Student understands dispatch priorities of SloIn in depth ? Student gets information about up-to date technology and its usage in medical dispatching. Competencies: Student is competent to: ? Perform basic and detailed call receiving process. ? Designate medical priority with use of SLoIn. ? Choose appropriate response emergency medical team according to medical priority. ? Perform crisis management procedures. ? Document events and measures taken.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

On completion of this course the student will be able to: explain different medical priority decisions models in medical dispatching to apply SloIn to gather all the relevant informations from the patient to determine medical priority using SloIn to select an appropriate dispatch criteria (dispatch card) using SloIn to determine the correct dispatch priority using SloIn to estimate an adequacy of medical priority and to modify medical priority according to the additional informations to argument chosen medical priority to analyze quality criteria in medical dispatching
