Objectives and competences
Student will:
• understand theoretical and philosophical background of nursing science
• get familiar with theories, models and concepts focused on health of entire population
• prepare a plan for implementing a theory, model or concept into a practice
Content (Syllabus outline)
• Theoretical and philosophical foundation of nursing science
• Models, theories and concepts focused on population health: learning theories, health behaviour theories and models, theories focused on interpersonal relationships, environmental theories, theories focused on health equity, caring models, theories and caring concept)
• Using theory in evidence based advanced nursing practice

On completion of this course the student will be able to
• Explain theoretical and philosophical background of nursing science
• Compare theories, models and concepts for health of entire population
• Argue selection of appropriate theory, model or concept for selected problem
• Prepare a plan of using theory in evidence based advanced nursing practice
