Objectives and competences
• Introduce students to the Renaissance period,
• teach students how to complete all the requirements of the Renaissance period,
• upgrade the vocal technique,
• get to know the interpretation of the Renaissance.
Content (Syllabus outline)
• recognising the music era of renaissance,
• the renaissance – composer Gallus,
• dexterous playing of the vocal scores on piano,
• fortify singing techniques,
• connection between lyrics and music,
• acquaintance with harmonics accession,
• way of expression,
• style,
• interpretation
Learning and teaching methods
• Group and individual work, preparation to work with the choir,
• role-playing games,
• group singing.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
On completion of the course the student will be able:
• to conduct the choir independently,
• to consider all the knowledge previously gained,
• to artistically perform
Renaissance songs,
• to play vocal scores by Gallus on the piano,
• to get acquainted the with the works of Jacobus Gallus,
• to sing the renaissance songs in proper manner,
• to evaluate the performances of that period,
• to prepare a choir up to artistic standard and critically self-evaluate themselves.

Prerequisits
There are no prerequisits for entering the subject.
Additional information on implementation and assessment Method (written or oral exam, coursework, project):
80% attendance of tutorial is required to take the exam.
Prerequisite for the exam is homework submitted on time.
