Objectives and competences

The objective of the subject is to develop an analytical command over musical notation in the compositional and formative sense as well as understanding and gaining practical command in different styles and their differences and specificity.

Content (Syllabus outline)

• Forming of a tone. • Comprehending music text. • Repetition of music themes. • Perceiving and playing the dynamic contrasts. • Playing compositions accompained with piano. • Playing of complex rhythmic patterns. • Profounding of playing techniques in the process of developing an interpretation. • Performing of different efects and specialities for each style.

Learning and teaching methods

Practical work with lesson planing. • Listen and critically evaluate concerts. • Teaching through modern technology.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

On completion of this course the student will be able to • Use the acquired knowledge in performing of different styles. • Undestanding processes and metods of practicing. • Link theoretical and practical knowledge. Transferable/Key skills and other attributes: • Solving problems: The ability to understand and perform musical works. • Communicational skills: Music expression in the process of teaching and later professional career.

Choir conductor transports all his knowledge of choir conducting also to conducting the instruments with all its specialties.
