Objectives and competences
The objectives of the subject are an understanding of new challenging vocal-instrumental literature/works, the ability to individually create music with an understanding of artistical musical interpretation principles, individual work with different casts, efficient co-working with the soloists, further knowledge of playing the scores. Enhancing self-confidance in working with an orchestra towards achieving the best artistical expression. The ability to adapt to different music circumstances, challenges with working with people and organisational problems. The goal to present classical music to wider spectre of audience (considering school, music organisations, performances beyond musical centres) and cooperation with the media.
Content (Syllabus outline)
• Study of vocal-instrumental works,
• recognition of student's own artistic musical expression,
• work/project analysis and its harmonical definition,
• sound relations, individual work with soloists, choir and orchestra,
• consolidating interpretations regarding a music style,
• listening orchestral rehersals and concerts,
• preparation and completion of dissertation.
Learning and teaching methods
• Presentation of new elements,
• consolidation of multilingual scripts,
• individual piano practice,
• group work,
• analitical listening of musical works.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
On completion of the course the student will:
• acquainted with vocal-instrumental works,
• get to know a wider range of technical and interpretative orchestral demands,
• recognize new relations and co-understanding between soloists, choir and the orchestra,
• be able to develop an artistic taste/expression and style priorities,
• interpret music with accomplished artistical sense,
• be able to contribute to organisational needs of artistic projects,
• know how to evaluate a concert,
• public performance.
