Objectives and competences

The objective of this course is to : - to give a general introduction to the coherent mastery of the basic knowledge, procedures and fine arts in the field of drawing, which are foreseen in the course syllabus of fine arts within the elementary and secondary education programs; - gain familiarity with broader aspects of drawing - use mastery of experimental construction of drawing space - contribute to the facility for documenting the executed artistic events - use different strategies and abilities for mastery of montage processes of drawing and other materials in regards to achieving artistic form - design and use the facility for conceptual construction of artistic problems

Content (Syllabus outline)

- Artistic problems and artistic concepts, which are in the curricula of the art programme of elementary and secondary education, represent fundamental and minimum standards of knowledge in the field of drawings. - Drawing as a realm of experimentation - Drawing art techniques and procedures covered by the curriculum for fine arts at primary and secondary school. - Drawing montages of reality - Collage, assemblage and ready-made - Simultaneity of the glance as a drawing principle - Cubist understanding of time and space - Layering of drawing and achieving subjectlessness - Drawing as a final product - Conceptual plans and planning of artistic events - Extending the drawing into the field of living environment concepts - Realization of concepts and design of documentary materials (photo, video, DVD)

Learning and teaching methods

Individually: - individual artistic guidance (explanation, discussion, demonstration) - consultations, help in searching the appropriate material for studio work. In groups: - visiting most important fine art (graphic) exhibitions with organised guidance and study excursions.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: After completing this course, the student will be able to: - recognise experimental work - understand of the transition from mimetic aspects towards subjectless aspects of artistic reality - use familiarity with procedures of abstracting onto geometric forms and bodies - analize understanding of the procedures of flattening artistic presentation - argue understanding of the sense of conceptual expression - value ability to apply the skills to related processes and other technical fields. - adjust to using different art techniques; proficiency in pooling different techniques and procedures in order to achieve visual materialisation; - acknowledge the value of manual skills of using various tools and use of various working forms and methods; ability to apply the skills to related processes and other technical fields.

Prerequisits

There are no specific prerequisites. Minimum 80% attendance at tutorials and successfully completed exercises during the study process, which are in accordance with the corrections provided by the professor, are obligatory for the accession to the exam.
