Objectives and competences

The objective of the course is to acquaint the students with: • the role of physical education in outdoor education, • the significance of the aesthetic experience in the process of motor learning, • the affective role of experiential sports activities, • the socialization role of experiential sports activities, • examples of experiential sports activities, • planning, implementing and evaluating experiential sports activities, • project work on the topic of experiential sports activities.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Integrative and social role of physical education, cognitive and training processes in sport, sport schools for children, standards of motor abilities, catalogue of motor knowledge for needs of curiculum and sport selection. Qualitative movements: experiencing of beauty with contrary of pure agonistics, emotional consciousness of movement, sport means as a role of estetical experience, climate, ecology with orientation in natural environment. Studying of motor and functional abilities of young children, pretentious methods of teaching (swimming, skiing, ball games, skating). Mentioned contents is supported with field work: camping with mountaineering, sailing, paddling, rafting, horseback riding etc.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

The student will know, understand and/or be able to: • plan, implement and evaluate experiential sports activities, • the importance of experiential sports activities for the child's physical, motor, social, and emotional development, • participate in project work on the topic of experiential sports activities.

Intended learning outcomes - transferable/key skills and other attributes

Psychomotor learning, life and work in nature with young children.
