Objectives and competences
Students:
professional dancing skills in the process of performing, observing and creating dance;
develop their aesthetic sensibility and capacity to work actively and creatively in the field of dance;
acquire knowledge of dance varieties;
develop capability to analytically observe and evaluate the works of Slovenian and global dancing culture;
in a joint dance-creative process develop cooperation and a culture of quality human relations;
Content (Syllabus outline)
Theory of dance foundations: music- and dance- sphere integration; formal elements: the motive, the phrase, the theme; programme music and dance creation; music and dance creation; various kinds of music and dance creation; reading and performing written music (notes); musical piece analysis.
Organization of musical circles and workshops.
Basic contemporary dance techniques.
Analytical watching of dance pieces of artistic value suitable for children from different dancing specialties.
Creating dance dramatizations.
Attending cultural events - theatrical performances.
Learning and teaching methods
Problem-concepted lectures, practical exercise, explanation, imitation, reading music notes, research, cooperative learning and teaching, empirical learning,team work, individual work, music- and dance methods of learning and teaching, music- and dance workshops.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and Understanding:
knowing and understanding the contents of theory of dance;
knowing the selection of music literature;
using musical knowledge to create and re-create dance substance;
reflection and aeshetic valuation of musical works in domestic and world musical culture;
reflection and aesthetic valuation of dancing creations of different kinds;
reflection and valuation of realisation and technical level of performance;
establishing the capacity to manage preschool children's dancing circles.
