Objectives and competences
The objective of this course is to acquaint students with the principles, norms, criteria, approaches and techniques of teaching English children’s literature at the primary level. Students develop, identify and use (spoken and written) literary aesthetic expression and dramatization in foreign language at the primary level. Students create diverse drama life performances in English for teaching foreign languages at the primary level.

• Children's literature, the Narrative Approach for Young Foreign Language Learners (primary school learners)
• The Use of Texts (e.g. short stories, storybooks, picture books) for Young Foreign Language Learners
• Criteria for Selection of Texts for Young Foreign Language Learners
• Methods and Techniques for the Use of Texts and Dramatization
• Selected Activities and Strategies of Dramatization for Young Foreign Language Learners
• Building up Dramatization with Young Foreign Language Learners
• Drama Production at the Primary Level.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
On completion of this course the student will be able to
• use and critically interpret the communication and aesthetic principles and norms of English language texts in theory and in practice, namely for their use in the foreign language classroom at primary level,
• show the ability of understanding, interpretation and evaluation of reading techniques and critical thinking of literary aesthetic texts,
• individually present drama production and activities to teach English to young learners.

Accomplished obligations during tutorials and lectures are a prerequisite for taking the oral presentation.
