Objectives and competences

Student: - becomes familiar with basiscs of pedagogy science and is able to transfer the theoretical knowledge into practice; - develops interest for teaching and (self)intiative; - understands the importance of interpersonal relations and communication; - understands the importance of curriculum and planning the lessons; - understands specifics of training different age groups; - Developing didactic approaches that promote lifelong learning and a healthy lifestyle; - Understanding the role of the sports educator in creating an inclusive and sustainable sports environment.

Content (Syllabus outline)

Pedagogy of sport • Definition, term and structure of pedagogy as science and pedagogy of sport • Pedagogical questions and aspects, which are important in the sports training process and their role in the formation of personal values of sportsmen • Inseparable correlation of education and upbringing in the sports training process • Basic factors of education (family, coach, school, sports club and other contributing organisations). The role of general and special didactics in sports training • Term and definition of general and specific sports didactics • The importance of deductive connection of special didactics with borderline sciences and their sensible connection for fulfilment of learning tasks, procedures and experiences in the training process • Planning, programming, organisation and evaluation of training • Goals, contents and didactical procedures in training • Articulation of training • Special didactic principles in sports training • Preserving and development of positive motivation in the training process, particularly in working with younger age groups of sportsmen • Didactic-didactic aspect of competition • The role and image of a coach as an important aspect of success in the sports training process • Motor learning in the sports training process • Phases of motor learning in practical didactic procedure • General characteristics of motor development in ontogenesis of human person – from birth to late age • Didactic approaches that take into account the diversity of the groups; • Emphasis on promoting motivation and active learning throughout the entire lifespan.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Students will: - theoretically design the coaching process regarding the educational aspects and put them into practice; - understand and use all key pedagogic -didactical knowledge and rules in the training process. They will be able to face the planning and realisation of sports training in practice and will understand the work with the elite categories and the youngest sportsmen.
