Objectives and competences
The aim of the subject is for students to acquire theoretical knowledge about different aspects of planning and realisation of training process in sport and specific preparation of sportsmen in competitions.

• Biologically based as a starting point for sport exercises
Elite sports training:
• Definition, role and tasks of elite sports training.
• Factors of success in sport
• Transformation process in training.
• Values and dangers of elite sport.
• The role and tasks of a coach in training process
• Talent identification and selection of young sportsmen
• The rules in the sports training process
Principles of sports training:
• Principle of loading, specialisation, all-around development, proportionality and systematic work
Planning, organisation, monitoring and evaluation of sports training
• Planning, preparation, organisation, monitoring, managing, control and modelling
• Annual training plans, macro- and micro-cycles
• Planning the peaking
• Analysis of long-term dynamics of sports achievements
• Organisational structure and materialistic-technical conditions
• Adaptation of training process to the specifics of various age and developmental periods
Technical and tactical preparation of sportsmen
• Teaching the sports technique
• Teaching the sports tactics
• Didactical-methodical procedures in learning and training
Specific preparation for competitions
• Holistic preparation of sportsmen for competitions
• Evaluation of sports achievement
Adaptation of preparation for competitions to specifics of children and youth

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
• Students will have theoretical and practical knowledge about the elite sports training
• Students will be able to plan, prepare, organise, monitor, manage, evaluate and control the training process
• Students will adapt training process to various age and developmental stages of sportsmen
• Students will use suitable procedures for technical and tactical preparation of sportsmen
• Students will prepare sportsmen for competitions

• Ability for communication: oral expressing in assignments, written in the exam
• Use of informational technology: the use of programmes tools
• Problem solving: ability to solve problems in articulation of training process and the use of scientific and professional findings in various circumstances
