Objectives and competences

Student will: • develop a practical and actionable under-standing of how corporate responsibility and sustainability are relevant to today's business environment, • gain an overview of a broad range of stan-dards and guidelines to help companies effectively and systematically implement sustainability through sustainable mana-gement systems standards, • gain insights into the role of digital technol-ogies and data analytics capabilities for da-ta-driven decision-making in the circular economy.

Content (Syllabus outline)

1) Introduction to environmental pollution (water and air pollution, waste, radiation, etc.). 2) Concepts, models, standards and strategies in the field of sustainable development and circular economy. 3) Digitalisation and business analytics in circular economy 4) Examples of best practices and case studies of sustainable business

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding of: At the end of the course, the students will be able to: • critically access the environmental, social, and economic factors and risks, which influence sustainable business, • interpret and compare different standardized corporate sustainability systems, • define the linkage between digital technologies and the circular economy.
