Objectives and competences

• To understand basic characteristics of projects and project oriented-work. • To know how to select basic techniques and methods for project planning and use them on project applications. • To understand the whole project planning and implementation process. • To understand methodology for research project design. • To understand how to use research project funding mechanisms and schemes. • To understand the financial construction of project. • To understand and to use different national and international programmes for projects funding as well as their responsible agencies. • To know how to prepare the excellent preparation of a project with a high degree of competitiveness. • To know local problems, national and EU strategies and constructing of important non-economic and economic actors network (companies, municipalities’, etc.).

Content (Syllabus outline)

• Types of research projects • Preparation of the project for applying for the specific call: • The overall development of the idea • From the idea to the project • Analysis of a good project idea and preparation of a draft • Financial resources • Concrete project application • The basic elements of the project application and the legality of these for a wonderful presentation • Project writing (adapting to call requirements) • Development and coordination of the project partnership • Financial aspect • Project management • Evaluation of the project • Negotiations with funders and coordination with the team • Control reports and reporting • Sustainability of the project • Practical work to obtain key knowledge and experience for quality preparation and realization of research and development projects.

Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding

Knowledge and understanding: • To compile a document with project idea for student’s research project. • To compile an application for selected financial mechanism for student’s research project. • To select a suitable financial mechanism for research project application. • To define necessary project management techniques and methods for research project application within specific financial mechanism. Transferable/Key skills and other attributes: • Understanding of key knowledge and experience for quality preparation and realization of research and development projects. • Capability to manage the company in the way to strengthen their research work and research projects. • Capability to transform project idea into project application. • Capability to write project documentation for a research project • Capability to manage the whole project planning and implementation process. • Capability of finding the suitable financing source for the project.
