Objectives and competences
- they know self-sufficiency as the foundation of the strategic security of every country
- understand the importance of self-sufficiency today and in the past,
- be able to identify the conditions for self-sufficiency at local, regional and national level,
- are familiar with innovations in the field of self-sufficiency in Slovenia,
- know practical examples of self-sufficiency as a basis for green jobs,
- are trained to prepare a plan and implement their own garden for self-sufficiency and
- know examples of good self-care practices both in Slovenia and around the world.
Intended learning outcomes - knowledge and understanding
Knowledge and Understanding:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the importance of self-sufficiency,
• identify conditions for self-sufficiency,
• identify barriers to self-sufficiency,
• analyze different models of self-sufficiency,
• understand the process of planning and implementing self-care in scratch and
• analyze various examples of self-sufficiency around the world.
Transferable / Key Skills and other attributes:
• Communication skills,
• use of information technology,
• combined use of different skills to solve practical problems,
• group work.
