About the University of Maribor
The University of Maribor is the second largest and the second oldest Slovene university. It is an autonomous scientific, research and educational institution with the purpose of discovering and nurturing knowledge as well as transferring it into the community through the all-connected fields of humanities, social sciences, engineering, economy, medicine, natural sciences, law, pedagogical sciences and arts. It includes 19 members (17 faculties, the University Library and Student Dormitories).
Development of the first Slovenian nanosatellite TRISAT, which flew into space; launch of the prototype supercomputer HPC RIVR; successes of the team of Maribor students in the project Student Formula; constant success in the international student competition of innovation, technological solutions and development Imagine Cup; significant contribution of our faculties in the development of electric transport within the HYPSTAIR project; the prestigious Reimagine Education Award for the Demola project - connecting students with the concrete problems of companies - which placed the University of Maribor alongside the best universities; are just some of the high-profile successes of the representatives of the University of Maribor.
