 PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AND READ "HOW AND WHERE TO APPLY" FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2026/27

When to apply for academic year 2026/27: 


Application deadlines for citizens of the Republic of Slovenia and other EU Member States as well as Slovenians in the border regions and abroad ​(application for the 1st year of study, for parallel studies and for graduates of integrated master's study programmes)

First application period: from 18 February to 18 March 2026.

Candidates may submit one application specifying, in order of priority, a maximum of three (3) different study programmes in which they wish to enrol.

Second application period: from 20 to 27 August 2026.

Candidates may submit one application specifying, in order of priority, a maximum of three (3) different study programmes in which they wish to enrol.

Application period for still-available enrolment places: from 23 to 24 September 2026 until 10 a.m. CET.
Candidates may submit three applications, in each specifying one study programme.
Application for parallel studies and graduates of integrated master's study programmes​: from 1 to 8 September 2026​ (for enrolling in a study programme that requires a test of specific aptitudes, abilities and skills, the application must be submitted between 18 February and 18 March 2026).
​​Candidates may submit several applications, in each specifying one study programme.


Application deadlines for citizens of non-EU Member States (application for the 1st year of study)

First application period: from 18 February to 18 March 2026.

For enrolment to the University of Maribor, candidates may submit one application specifying, in order of priority, a maximum of three (3) different University of Maribor study programmes in which they wish to enrol.


All candidates with a valid application will be issued a decision on the result of the selection procedure by the 1st of September 2026 at the latest. Candidates who submitted an application for study programmes conducted in English will be issued a decision on the selection procedure results by 14 July 2026.


Second application periodfrom 3 to 4 September 2026.

For enrolment to the University of Maribor, candidates may submit maximum three (3) applications, in each specifying one (1) University of Maribor study programme in which they wish to enrol.



Application deadline for enrolment in a higher year of study ​(for all candidates regardless of citizenship​)

From 1 to 8 September 2026 (for enrolling in a study programme that requires a test of specific aptitudes, abilities and skills, the application must be submitted between​ 18 February and 18 March 2026).
​​Candidates m​​ay submit several applications, in each specifying one study programme.​​


​How and where to apply: 

​By the deadline set in the Call for Enrolment, submit the electronic application form via the eVŠ w​​eb p​ortal with a​ qualified digital certificate, smsPASS, e-ID card​,​ Arnes AAI account (an account of the Authentication and Authorization Infrastructure), or with a username and password after logging in to the SI-PASS system.

Subm​​itting applications and supplemental documents: ​​​In the application-admission procedures for enrolment in the 2026/27​​ academic year, you must also submit all supplemental documents required for application electronically via eVŠ information system. Check detailed i​nstruction on how to submit supplemental documents together with the application and how to submit them later when the application for enrolment has already been electronically submitted.

NOVELTY for enrolment in academic year 2026/27
The new Higher Education Act (ZVIS-1, Official Gazette RS no. 56/25) in Article 13 stipulates that higher education institutions shall conduct a direct interview with foreign citizens on the suitability of the candidate according to the enrollment conditions of the study programme. This applies for foreign citizens who have submitted an application for enrollment for higher education studies in the Republic of Slovenia and come from one of the countries with a higher migration risk, as determined by the list of countries whose citizens must have visas when crossing the external borders of the European Union, in accordance with the law regulating the conditions and methods of entry, departure and stay of foreigners in the Republic of Slovenia.

The faculty will inform the candidates about the course and date of the interviews by e-mail.
